A vision technician works with an ophthalmologist to do eye examinations, gauge eye function, and provide a diagnosis for treating eye illnesses and diseases. Other duties of the vision technician include teaching patients how to put on and take off contact lenses, educating them on proper contact lens hygiene, and scheduling contact lens wear in accordance with an ophthalmologist's prescription.
