Vision Technologist Institute

Vision Technicians are eye care specialists that work independently at Vision Centers, help ophthalmologists in the clinic, and take part in population screening initiatives. Students who enrol in the Vision Technician Course receive instruction in patient history-taking, refraction, eye exams (including slit-lamp and applanation tonometry), and the use of the A-scan and the keratometer to determine IOL power. Additionally, they receive training in community-based tasks including conducting polls and screenings and educating locals about eye care. A pass in the 12th grade is the needed minimal educational level. It is also reported that several training facilities accept 10th pass pupils. The eligibility requirements vary depending on the type of college and the degree of difficulty of the course, among other things. The length of the training programme may vary by institute.
