ANM or Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery is a two-year diploma program in the field of Nursing. Interested candidates can apply for an ANM diploma after passing their class 12 exam in Science or Arts stream. The two-year course includes six months of compulsory internship. ANM diploma is the most basic diploma course which can be opted as a starting step toward making a career in the Nursing field. Graduates with ANM diplomas can start their careers by working with community health centers in urban or rural areas. After completing the ANM diploma, the graduates are registered as ANM and designated as a Nurse. The Nursing profession involves dealing with patients and assisting doctors in providing care. While dealing with the different types of patients the Nurse attending them should have enough patience to show empathy to the patients. Besides this, the Nurse should have demonstrated working with doctors, patients, and other hospital administration, compassion with excellent communication skills.
